My capsule collection Lacrimosa is an exploration into primal female emotion, whilst being influenced by the gothic view of nature. Nature, hailed as an all powerful being, something to behold with a sense of awe. To be in awe of something is not necessarily a positive feeling, it can be a feeling of complete and utter terror, reminding us of our insignificance in comparison to the natural world. My work is heavily influenced by the idea of female madness, rage, being pushed to a point where you simply snap embracing the primal animal within. This capsule collection captures the aftermath of heavy emotion, shredding that past version of oneself to heal and grow, rising from the metaphorical ashes.
