My work is inspired by my background in athletics and an interest in combining sportswear functionality with everyday fashion. I am drawn to the confidence, determination, and focus that competition creates, using my past experiences to inform my garment and textile development. I focus on creating functional designs that don’t restrict movement while maintaining a strong visual identity, often through innovative textile techniques and surface design. My graduate collection, Unapologetic, explores the light and freeing feeling of running and translates it into a bold, confident womenswear collection. Digital laser cutting became a key technique within the collection, using a print developed from a scan of my running shoe to inform laser-cut placement and etched detailing. The laser-cut details create movement, ventilation, and flexibility within the garments. Combined with adaptable sportswear features and a bright colour palette, the collection is designed for self-driven individuals who embody ambition, resilience, and a determination to succeed.
