My collection HERITAGE combines Ottoman dress with contemporary streetwear as a way to celebrate my heritage and deepen my understanding of my identity. During the summer, I travelled to Istanbul, where I toured Turkish fabric stores in the city’s fashion and textile district, as well as Turkish carpet stores near the Grand Bazaar. These materials became central to the development of the collection. Turkish carpets and kilims were an important part of Ottoman visual culture, so incorporating them into my designs felt essential. Their textures, patterns, and cultural significance allowed me to connect traditional craftsmanship with modern silhouettes. Overall, this collection is a reflection of my Turkish heritage, reinterpreted through contemporary fashion to bridge the past with today’s aesthetics.
