Between Essex and Jamaica, my identity was stitched. Inherited in fragments my grandfather’s pride, his resilience, his unmistakable 1980s elegance. Style as armour. Presence as resistance. Unapologetically Jamaican. Proudly English. In Essex, as a Black man, belonging has often been questioned. But pressure shapes form and identity sharpens under weight. So I carry both worlds, Not as contradiction, But as truth. Two histories. One body. This is my England.
