As a Fashion Design graduate from Leeds Arts University, specialising in printmaking and textiles, my work is underpinned by nostalgic memories from my childhood. My graduate collection was one of the winners of the Collective Catwalk and was featured on the Best of GFW 2026 Catwalk and the Closing Gala Party. My practice focuses on impactful prints and the use of colour, evoking a sense of joy and playfulness throughout my garments. My graduate collection, Nod to Nostalgia, explores my childhood memories and how, as a child, I felt free from the judgment of others, allowing myself to be bold, bright and colourful. Through the use of my hand-produced and hand-printed gingham fabrics, meticulously quilted elements and handmade playful accessories. The collection combines collage and sketching with digital development to create a collection that is visually bold and impactful. Nod to Nostalgia celebrates the freedom of being a child, when there was no pressure for perfection. My hand-produced gingham originated from imperfect brushstrokes, rich in texture and imperfection, reiterating the carefree nature of childhood. The collection also evokes the sense of safety and security we experienced as children through quilted elements inspired by my childhood blankets, adding depth, texture, and a sense of comfort to each garment. Oversized, free-flowing silhouettes are key throughout the collection, referencing nostalgic memories of dressing up as a child while also evoking a sense of comfort and freedom. The collection is both detailed and playful, inviting the wearer back to a time when they were truly free to be their childhood self.
