This collection stems from an exploration of belonging. Through uncovering a fragmented Family history through archives, photographs, and heirlooms dating back to the 1800s, I begin to reconnect and embrace a culture that feels unfamiliar yet deeply connected to my identity. Through the reinterpretation of traditional Hungarian craft techniques, I attempt to weave together lost threads of identity. Crochet, lacemaking, cross-stitch, and embroidery are translated through a contemporary lens and combined with technology and unexpected materials, intertwining preservation and transformation. Materials sourced from the landscapes of my upbringing, such as sheepskin from Glastonbury, foliage gathered from my family's land, and wood from fallen trees in London, preserve traces of my life in the same way family archives preserve traces of my family.Each garment is designed as a future heirloom. Just like how my family still has pieces from over 100 years ago, my garments are made to endure, evolve, and be passed from one generation to the next. As stories, objects, and traditions survive through those who carry them forward, these pieces seek to honour the craftsmanship of the past while imagining its future. Elegant but also experimental, nostalgic as well as futuristic, the collection inhabits a world where heritage is never lost but continually rewritten. Through wearing these garments, the customer becomes part of that journey by discovering, preserving, and reconnecting with a culture alongside me.
