LOU RIBBONS’s 2026 Graduate Collection ‘THE DAMNED’ utilises vivid imagery from religious and historical apocalyptic narratives and places you amidst the apocalypse. Experimental streetwear designs encapsulate a feeling of being amongst the otherworldly, as if belonging to a world of destruction. Initial inspiration for ‘THE DAMNED’ came from the apocalyptic nature of the world we currently live in, using the dramatic absurdist creatures, imagery and events within apocalyptic narratives, in particular Revelation by John Patmos to dress us ready for the oncoming real-life apocalypse. The name ‘THE DAMNED’ comments on how within strict apocalyptic narratives we are all damned to destruction in our own way, whether that be supposed judgement for our own sins, or our own destruction of ourselves, the best we can do is thrive in damnation. ‘THE DAMNED’ collection utilises CLO3D digital design as a sustainable way to toile patterns and visualise variations of each look without excessive fabric waste. LOU RIBBONS uses this platform not only to assist her physical work but also to bring fully functioning garments into the digital world and imagine the collection through colour visualisation and garment renders.
