As a London based designer, I strive to merge the razor sharp, architectural tailoring, with fluidity and dramatic romanticism in order to bridge the gap between preconceived norms of what womenswear should become. Through the mastery of silhouette manipulation and forensic pattern cutting, I craft garments that are defined by structural subversion, where classic, masculine tailoring up front, effortlessly gives way to unexpected, and fluid draping. Heavily influenced by the power dressing of the 1980s, with the nocturnal opulence of 1990s fashion houses and supermodels, my design language uses highly saturated, jewel tones, draped satin, and wool suiting to explore themes of untouchable power, unexpected subversion, and divine femininity. By incorporating my own personal journey with self-portraiture into my work, and by using myself and others as my muses, I am able to make my work deeply personal, and reflective. I bring a deeply intimate, theatrical perspective to the contemporary fashion landscape. I don’t simply present clothing, rather I orchestrate a cinematic mood, where heritage craftsmanship meets an avant-garde attitude, establishing myself as designer who uses his voice to present subversion, challenge conventional norms, and blends pre-existing ideas of glamour, sexuality, and design.
