The title for my collection is Korzanie – Threads of us. The theme is love, looking at my family as a perfect example of true love. The idea that a thread connects two souls who are destined to meet and be together, known as the ‘red string’ theory or ‘the string of fate’ which, perhaps, may stretch or tangle, but will never break, symbolises a strong bond and affection. My project is about merging the story of love with identity and creating a collection that is connected between two worlds. I explore the traditional Polish Folk dress and bring elements from my summer adventures around Poland. I also explore my dad’s passion for motorbikes and take inspiration from photographs of his racing days in this youth. I look into 80s casual and vintage Biker jackers for silhouette and design ideas and integrate my knit and crochet textiles.
