Sustainability and responsible design are at the fore of each of my projects, this one being no different. Existing fabrics inspire my approach to new possibilities, challenging the perception of what a material might have once been used for and how it can be reworked into something new. Through different techniques of fabric manipulation, I have freely experimented, giving me a broad base of textiles to work from. I have allowed the fabrics to guide the direction of this process, showing off their marks and blemishes as opposed to hiding them. This, coupled with my interests in history, heritage and subculture, has led my design process to where it is now - A 4 look, sustainably sourced collection showing off the beauty of using second hand fabrics.
