My final collection is a heritage based project that explores my family history in England, drawing from my Nanas wardrobe and personal style and moulding a collection centered around the trench coat; my hero garment. from there. I've drawn inspiration from old movies, family photographs, newspapers and general day to day street style. The trench coat has obviously crossed generations and till now you see it very very frequently out and about so thats helped my research greatly. It's interesting to see how the trench coat has changed over the years. From that hero garment of the trench I designed another two looks that take minimal features from that first look and convey to my audience a well tailored classic three looks. My audience is women like me, interested in classic staple pieces, well tailored pieces. due to the nature of my project being primarily outerwear I think the breadth of the audience is wide.
