'Return to LDN' - 'Return to LDN' is a personal exploration of belonging, displacement, and the emotional connection we form with place. Inspired by my experience of living between London and Leicester, the project examines the contrast between physical presence and emotional attachment. While Leicester has been a place of residence, London represents something deeper: a sense of creativity, freedom, cultural diversity, and personal alignment. For me, home is not defined solely by geography, but by the environments that inspire growth, self-expression, and connection. Through candid photography and observational image-making, I document the everyday moments that contribute to London’s unique character. Fleeting interactions, diverse communities, individual style, and the energy of the city become visual symbols of belonging. By positioning myself as both observer and participant, I use the camera as a tool to explore my own relationship with place, capturing the tension between feeling connected and feeling distant. My work combines fashion imagery with themes of memory, identity, and emotional geography. Fashion functions not only as a form of self-expression but also as a marker of culture, community, and belonging. Through carefully considered styling, photography, and exhibition design, I aim to create immersive experiences that invite audiences to reflect on their own understanding of home and the spaces that shape them. Ultimately, Return to LDN is a reflection on the idea that home is not always where we live, but where we feel most seen, inspired, and authentically ourselves.
