'JADED' is a conceptual fashion magazine that responds to the growing sense of digital fatigue experienced by Generation Z. In an online landscape saturated with artificial intelligence, curated content, and hyper-polished imagery, it has become increasingly difficult to distinguish reality from fantasy. Constant exposure to idealised representations of people, lifestyles, and success has created unrealistic expectations, often leaving individuals feeling disconnected from genuine human experience. This project investigates how these pressures shape our understanding of ourselves and seeks to challenge the pursuit of perfection that dominates contemporary digital culture. Through a series of stylised editorial narratives, JADED reframes embarrassment as something humorous, relatable, and worthy of celebration. Using fashion photography, collage, illustration, moving image, and written storytelling, I construct a playful visual world populated by characters who embrace their flaws rather than conceal them. By transforming awkward moments, inconveniences, and failures into creative narratives, the project highlights the universal experiences that connect us and reminds audiences that imperfection is an essential part of being human. My visual approach celebrates spontaneity, texture, and experimentation. Rejecting overly polished aesthetics, I incorporate handmade elements, mixed media, collage, and raw imagery to emphasise the value of human creativity in an increasingly automated world. Through satire and humour, I aim to create work that feels both entertaining and thought-provoking, encouraging viewers to reflect on their own relationship with perfection, self-image, and digital consumption. Ultimately, JADED is a celebration of authenticity. By embracing vulnerability, individuality, and the unexpected, my work challenges unrealistic standards and advocates for a more honest, relatable, and human-centred future for fashion media.
