Ji Young Yun is a South Korean accessory designer based in London, currently completing an MA in Fashion at the Royal College of Art. Her practice explores the relationship between the body, identity, and personal space through sculptural accessories, material experimentation, and performance. Drawing on her experience of growing up in South Korea, Yun investigates how social expectations shape perceptions of the body, femininity, and selfhood. Working primarily with latex, balloons, and leather, she transforms personal experiences into wearable forms that question conventional ideas of beauty, protection, and transformation. Her recent project, Extension: Self-Determination, explores the fear of expansion through the body and space. Inspired by the processes of expansion, rupture, and repair found in stretch marks, alongside the experience of leaving one’s comfort zone, the work reimagines expansion not as a loss of identity but as the beginning of a new form and a new sense of self. Through sculptural accessories and performance, Yun invites audiences to reconsider their own boundaries and the possibilities of change
