I am a Designer and Image Archivist, specialising in media and textiles. My graduate collection, Designed for Love, was created to reimagine the luxury sensuality of the 90s through thoughtful fabric research, with a specialism in physical garments and a minimalist approach. The 90s was the last era of quality, experimental designer clothing, as those who grew up during the birth of youth culture finally had the disposable income to complement their developed taste in fashion. Infamous designers such as Galliano, Issey Miyake, John Rocha and Ann Demeulemeester produced some of their most iconic designs during this distinctive era. For my research process, I immersed myself deeply in the world of the 90s, referencing only original magazines, listening exclusively to 90s albums, and swapping my mobile for a flip phone. This method-acted approach led me to create an extensive personal archive of 90s media, which I drew upon and combined with modern techniques such as laser cutting to bring an incredibly genuine aesthetic into a modern context.
