A Fox in Clothes' is a project that combines menswear, draping, and print to create outcomes that are both experimental and considered. The project began as an exploration of how much agency consumers truly have when buying from large brands. Beyond fashion, we live in a society where increasing automation shapes many aspects of daily life, often reducing our sense of control and personal agency. Researching communities and groups who make, or historically made, their own clothing became a key influence on the collection. For me, the act of making / altering clothes for oneself is a clear expression of agency-a way of communicating identity through self-presentation. This idea informed many of the processes behind the project. The Kindred of the Kibbo Kift has been a continuous reference point throughout recent collections. The simplicity of their clothing strips fashion back to something that feels attainable while remaining distinctive and engaging. Within the fashion industry, sustainable clothing has become a significant buzzword. However, discussions around sustainability often place responsibility on people who cannot afford higher-quality garments, rather than encouraging a broader examination of consumption habits and production systems. This collection does not claim to solve the industry's problems. Instead, it marks the beginning of my attempt, as a designer, to question how clothing is produced - both at the design stage and throughout the manufacturing process.
