Zoe Bennett is a BA Fashion Design graduate whose menswear collection explores the intersection of tailoring, sportswear, and contemporary art. Influenced by the everyday journey of a London Underground commuter, the collection reimagines practical menswear through a hybrid approach, deconstructing formal silhouettes with functional sportswear elements. A key influence throughout the work is artist Grayson Perry, whose use of colour informed the collection’s palette. Perry’s work holds personal significance, as his was the first art book Zoe purchased, sparking an enduring interest in the relationship between fashion and art. Influenced by Perry's observations on how the conventional suit can render men "invisible" through conformity, the collection challenges traditional menswear codes through colour, print, and hybrid garment construction. Textile design is central to the collection, with each garment panel hand screen-printed. The prints are created from draped compositions of shirts, jackets, ties, utility wear, and sportswear, visually merging formal and casual dress codes while balancing practicality with artistic expression.
