Driven by a strong focus on innovation and specialising in technical, functional design, Sean Pajarillo is a menswear designer whose work is rooted in the intersection of utilitarian frameworks and the architectural subversion of utility. Leveraged through digital workflows in CLO3D, his work is deeply informed by conceptual worldbuilding—drawing parallels between contemporary socio-political events and speculative fiction to craft narrative-driven garments grounded in real-world contemporary fashion. His graduate collection, “Megasoma”, examines the evolving relationship between the human body, technological innovation, and the constructed environment. Drawing from Japanese Metabolist architecture and its dystopian depictions in science fiction like Akira, the project applies biomechanical design principles to reimagine garments as adaptive organisms—conceptualised to evolve alongside the surrounding megacity and the socio-political realities of its inhabitants. Utilising the visual language of workwear and military apparel, the collection features structured silhouettes, industrial detailing, and innovative Fidlock components in collaboration with Contact Left Ltd.
