Abbie Walton is an emerging womenswear designer specialising in commercial and ready-to-wear collections. Her work combines traditional silhouettes with contemporary trends to create timeless designs for the modern woman. This collection reimagines the world of the eighteenth century highwayman through a romantic and distinctly feminine lens. Inspired by the rebellion and mystery associated with these outlaw figures, this Fall/Winter RTW collection explores the tension between strength and delicacy, history and modernity. The collection modernises classic menswear silhouettes from the era through refined cuts and contemporary details, drawing from extensive trend research and historical references. Figures such as Dick Turpin and Claude Duvall, both renowed for their iconic image, were key sources of inspiration, focusing on the fluid silhouettes and intricate detailing evident in illustrations and paintings from the Georgian era. Classic heritage textiles such as English wool and delicate lace contrast to create a balance of structure and softness, while equestrian-inspired fastenings and tailored detailing reference the utilitarian dress of riders. Each piece has been mindfully designed and carefully crafted with longevity and contemporary styling in mind, honouring heritage craftsmanship while redefining historical fashion for the modern consumer. Honour Among Thieves celebrates rebellion with grace…transforming the traditionally masculine imagery associated with the highwayman into something empowered and elegant, a sophisticated celebration of seemingly forgotten legends of English past.
