MA Fashion & Textile Design A design project exploring storytelling, identity, and craftsmanship through speculative design and Afro-futurist thinking. The project reflects a personal journey of experimentation across disciplines, materials, and methods of making. Created in response to an increasingly digital and AI-driven world, Moni Oni Studio investigates the human need for connection, continuity, and meaningful objects. The work centres around creating artefacts that act as vessels of story and pieces that carry identity, culture, and memory while challenging fast cycles of consumption and design. Rather than referencing the past nostalgically, the project explores how traditional values, craft, and cultural narratives can remain future facing. Through research-led design thinking and hands-on experimentation, A visual and conceptual language grounded in both innovation and heritage.
