About
The Designer Relations & Membership Department is looking for an ambitious and highly-motivated Executive to support the Designers Relations and Membership Manager. Delivering and supporting the team in curating the London Fashion Week and London Fashion Week Men’s catwalk, presentation, events schedules. Nurturing new and existing designer and PR relationships; working closely with the communications department on designer communications; assisting with the NEWGEN initiative, working closely with, and supporting Business Development team.
Responsibilities
General
- Support Designer Relations & Membership Manager to develop the department’s strategy and objectives in line with the BFC’s shared vision
- Assist with scheduling emerging designers for LFW & LFWM
- Helping to deliver the Membership programme outreach, identifying new brands within the
emerging category - Account management of all emerging designers signed up to the Membership programme
Relationship Management
- Forging and maintaining good relationships, ensuring exceptional delivery of service to meet all requirements
- Extensive liaison, meetings and relationship management with external bodies and company-wide to meet delivery
- Resolves complaints and is able to trouble-shoot with designers and external bodies with empathy and in a conciliatory manner
Team (across BFC and externally)
- Pro-actively supports Department
- Hosts and participates in meetings
- Immediately addresses and resolves issues/challenges
- Works with teams to positively deliver requests
Personal Management
- Takes direction to ensure thorough preparation to meet delivery requirements
- Takes ownership, is accountable to deliver timely solutions, meet deadlines and complete actions
- Is solutions focused and manages problems in a positive and innovative way
- Manages very tight deadlines and can prioritise tasks in order of importance, to ensure delivery
- Exceptional organisational skills and follow-through on all tasks
- Delivers individual tasks whilst maintaining focus on overall objectives
- Demonstrates best practice in managing communications and quality standards
- Drives best practice behaviours and works as a team to meet BFC’s objectives to maintain integrity
and reputation - Represents the BFC and acts as an ambassador at events, corporate initiatives, networking, etc.
Requirements & Key Attributes – Skills & Requirements
- Graduate with 3 years of fashion experience, essential
- Excellent knowledge of British and international designers their brands, collections and their
position in the market - Knowledge of retail market, department stores and boutiques
Relationship management skills - Strong writing skills and experience of writing reports to a high standard, essential
- Excellent written and spoken level of English, essential
- Understanding of the global sales and showcasing calendar, essential
- Updating databases and advanced Microsoft Applications skills with strong IT, Excel and numeracy skills
Salary & Benefits
- Job type: full time, permanent
- Salary Band: £TBC, dependant on experience
- Standard company benefits, including 25 days annual holiday + bank holidays + Christmas Eve
- Summer working hours (July & August Friday afternoons finish 3pm)
- Standard company working hours are 09.30 – 17.30, flexibility is required during events
- Confirmation of appointment and eligibility to benefits, subject to successful completion of a three
month probationary period - This salary is part funded by the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF). This is due to the BFC being a recipient of ERDF funds.
