Once Treasured

After having been restricted to researching within her own home this year, Ella delved into her family's history and began looking at the idea of value linked to the objects stored in her attic. Possessions can be so intimate that they convey their owner's emotions: fears and hopes, lies and obsessions. Ella explored the lived experience of objects themselves and how the value of our possessions can be so fragile and fleeting. She sources her fabrics and embellishments second hand or sustainably. Sourcing fabrics in this way is an integral part of the concepts that she explores.
