CULTURE CLASH

I am a fashion design student from China. The purpose of my study in the UK is to find a way to integrate different cultures. Then I found my answer in my project this time. My final major project is called "Cultural Clash". My initial inspiration came from Whistler's peacock room. Whistler is an artist who loves Eastern works. Therefore, in his interior design and paintings, you can vaguely see the shadows of oriental elements, such as girls in Hanfu, blue and white porcelain, Japanese Ukiyo-e, etc. However, the culture of Hanfu in China and Victorian fashion in England are entirely different in terms of style and decorative elements.
