Befriending Loneliness

I am a womenswear designer from Cambridge, inspired by nature and my personal emotions. I am most excited by occasion wear, as I feel freer to experiment with bold, elegant silhouettes by sculpting and draping on the body. My primary goal is to innovate within textiles for fashion, to explore sustainable practises and methods and ultimately produce highly desirable couture pieces. My graduate collection is made from fish skin leather, made from waste fish skins (which are the by-product of the food industry) from my local fish monger and seafood factory. I have used a sculpting method with the skins, draping them over shapes instead of a cut and sew approach which is more commonly used for leather. My collection aims to convey the victory of self-love in combat of loneliness, an emotion that I can feel strongly.
