Outer shell is a visual representation of feelings of claustrophobia and confinement contrasting with the need for protection, due to anxieties exacerbated by Covid within current society. Traditional manufacturing begins to blur with digital innovation in an increasingly changing clothing industry. I enjoy working between 2D and 3D and take inspiration from sculpture. My graduate collection uses digital design processes as a sustainability mechanism, reducing development costs and end use waste - a constant consequence of clothing production. The digitisation of fashion is a way forward for the industry to appeal to a wider demographic. The front runners of digital fashion, such as the Fabricant and the Institute of Digital Fashion provide a welcoming and supportive community where people can learn and share their creativity.
