Born in London to Korean/Chinese-Malaysian parents, fashion designer Grace Kwon explores and celebrates her transcultural identity in her work. Her debut collection Godspeed began in a time of mourning, with inspirations emerging from burning joss paper at Chinese Buddhist funerals, billowing Victorian mourning dresses, and traditional Korean death rituals. Modern, bold, flowing silhouettes in regal tones form dramatic, covetable pieces that rejoice in the promise of life lived to the full.
