Don't Leave us Behind

Charlie Catlow

Location: London, UK
University/College: University of Salford Specialisms: Menswear
Charlie's design practice is a fusion of Sportswear and Luxury Menswear; traditional tailored garments met with the more technical, creating a futuristic vision that respects the menswear of the past. Catlow’s first collection, titled Don’t Leave Us Behind, observed the culture of Space Tourism against the unjustifiable cycle of poverty. The designer married technical nylons and PVC’s with traditional wools and cottons, cut into classic tailored silhouettes alongside the technical functionality of space-wear. Catlow collaborates with other like-minded creatives. He teamed up with the party Select Sounds during the first lockdown, designing a t-shirt which reflected his yearning for human togetherness at the time. He has also worked with interior designer Finley Bartram, creating an instillation for Wigflex City Festival that had a direct relationship with the music playing in the room. Catlow aims to push the boundaries of menswear into an area of modernity and traditional.
