Bold colours, interesting textures and unusual shapes are the focus of Steph Birtles’ designs. Taking blue denim as the main fabric of her debut collection, she explores and combines the myriad of properties it has to create intricate textiles with gradual gradients. Also interested in print design, origami techniques inspire repeat digital prints which reference the precise skill and geometry of the process whilst emphasising its fragility.
