Capo Cuoco

My graduate collection is inspired by The Chef. Growing up in a restaurant and experiencing first-hand the chaotic heat that engulfs the kitchen, peering from the periphery of a dangerous environment that I was forbidden from entering, created an exotic impression. Dishevelled uniforms and bold personalities became a dark and thrilling inspiration. Thus, I have designed a collection with sensitivity to the fabrication, and juxtaposition of drape within hospitality workwear, which uses the way clothes are worn to capture the scenarios within the hectic life of my muse. Using techniques within pattern cutting and drapery to create silhouettes that force volume by wrapping around the body as well as experimenting with various weights and qualities of organic materials I have imagined a line-up that embodies the uniform of a dishevelled, overworked chef.
