Big Kids

I have always been fascinated by growing up, and the transitional period experienced throughout the decade of a young person’s life where they are at the awkward ‘in between’, too big to be a child but not quite an adult yet either. I found through my own experience that I was always being told to ‘be myself’, a phrase which I grew to hate, not really having the faintest clue how to do that as I was, and in many ways still am, caught between a hundred different versions of myself. I wanted to translate this visually, using clash and layering, in print, fabrication and silhouette.
