Euphoric Escapism

Sophie Forster

Location: Somerset, UK
University/College: Falmouth University Specialisms: Print
Sophie Forster has studied Textile Design at Falmouth University for the past 3 years with a particular interest in printed textiles. The majority of Sophie’s inspiration comes from surrounding landscape, often either the stunning Cornish views or the rolling hills of her home in Somerset. She hopes to capture and express their individual characteristics through her painted and lino printed designs. “Euphoric Escapism” is a 12 pattern collection inspired by the glimmers of hope and happiness during the 2020 lockdown. The collection aims to capture activities, dreams and storytelling that united the country during a challenging time. Designed with sleepwear in mind, Euphoric Escapism is printed on silk to create a luxurious and comfortable fit that can be worn at night but also during the day as loungewear. During the development of this collection, Sophie explored both painted and lino printed designs.
