Amelia Walker is a womenswear designer from the Steel City of Sheffield, currently based in London. Coming from a background of fine art and being raised in a house of architects, her designs look to construct complex forms, whilst interacting with and dramatising the human body. An industrial heritage and fascination with the balance between strength and elegance influences her work. Trained at Carol Christian Poell in Milan, her understanding of complex craftsmanship and experimental fabrication processes result in an artisanal approach to design. Striving for a timeless output, she looks to highlight the importance of longevity, consideration and purpose within high fashion. Collaborating locally with suppliers to develop bespoke fabrications and repurpose dead stock or damaged goods, Amelia Walker ensures an understanding of and involvement in each stage of garment production.
