The British Fashion Council launched its Education Strategy with the aim to set the foundations for attracting the best talent into the industry and give a clear understanding of how to study and train for key roles.

To ensure the future success of British fashion and the influence of its designers, the British Fashion Council aims to attract, develop and retain talent.

  • Attracting talent to the industry through a nationwide Fashion & Business Saturday Club and a careers campaign aimed at teenagers and school leavers
  • Developing talent through the Education Foundation, a scholarship programme for students requiring financial support to study and developing a school-leaver apprenticeship as an alternate pathway into the industry
  • Retaining talent through a graduate traineeship and business school programme to engage graduates in the industry and develop relevant courses, working with the BFC Colleges Council
