The Fashion Awards took place for another year on Monday 5th December 2022, returning to the iconic London venue The Royal Albert Hall. The event, one of the most anticipated moments in the global fashion calendar, celebrates fashion at the intersection of culture and is a global entertainment platform for brands, creatives, designers, artists and tastemakers who come together to celebrate the industry.
It was great to see so many of our BFC Foundation Patrons there on our dedicated table, sandwiched elegantly between Burberry and British Vogue. Our host for the evening was Jodie Turner-Smith, with guest appearances made from Edward Enninful, Stormzy and Florence Pugh and finished by a performance by Jessie Ware.
This year’s winner of the BFC Foundation Award went to S.S Daley. This award recognises an emerging designer from those receiving support from the BFC Foundation in this year who over the last 12 months has had a major creative impact on global fashion. This includes the NEWGEN recipients, the BFC/Vogue Designer Fashion Fund winner and shortlist, the BFC/GQ Designer Fashion Fund winner and shortlist and the BFC Fashion Trust recipients.
We have a duty to support the younger generation, keep them inspired and motivate them to know that there is a future in creativity. The Fashion Awards is a fundraiser for the BFC Foundation and focuses on celebrating excellence in the fashion industry and supporting the future pipeline of creative talent. Never before has there been more need for this support.
