The British Fashion Council Foundation works to underpin the next generation of creative talent through its education initiatives.Education in the UK is the best in the world and supporting students is imperative to maintaining our position as the birthplace of global talent. At this time the support of upcoming talent establishing pathways through education is more critical than ever. The BFC Foundation provides financial support to students to complete their studies. Scholarships are offered to those undertaking their MA or BA courses at a BFC Colleges Council member college. Non-British students are eligible to apply for this scholarship. Please find instructions below.TYPES OF SCHOLARSHIPBA ScholarshipThe BA Scholarship is offered to students commencing their degree or part way through, who have a confirmed place on a BA Fashion Design course. The scholarship helps towards course tuition fees with a contribution to course costs or living expenses.BA Final Year ScholarshipThe BA Final Year Scholarship is offered to students in their final year of a BA Fashion Design course. The funding aims to cover production costs for students’ final collections.MA ScholarshipThe MA Scholarship is available to students accepted on an MA Fashion Design course in the UK. The scholarship helps towards course tuition fees with a contribution to course costs or living expenses.MA Final Year ScholarshipThe MA Final Year Scholarship is offered to students in their final year of an MA Fashion Design course in the UK to cover production costs for their final collections. HOW TO APPLYApplications for scholarships are currently closed.Interested students should submit:- Application Form- Financial Circumstances Form- Digital Portfolio (maximum 15 pages submitted as one PDF)Please include your name, university and scholarship you are applying for on all documents.Feel free to add any supplementary information that you feel will strengthen your application e.g. a professional reference.THE ASSESSMENT PROCEDURE FOR APPLICATIONSTo be eligible for a BFC Foundation scholarships you must have an offer of, or currently be studying an MA or BA at a BFC Colleges Council member college. Non-British students are eligible to apply for this scholarship. Applicants that do not meet the eligibility criteria will be removed from consideration.Scholarship applications are assessed on the basis of talent and financial need, using information given in your application, your portfolio, your financial circumstances and references received.Applications will be shortlisted by a panel of academics, the BFC and industry representatives.Shortlisted applicants will be contacted by the BFC shortly after the application deadline and invited for an interview.
