THE BRITISH FASHION COUNCIL ANNOUNCES ITS PLANS FOR THE 2024 INSTITUTE OF POSITIVE FASHION FORUM

07 February 2024

We are delighted to announce its plans for the fourth annual Institute of Positive Fashion (IPF) Forum which will take place on Thursday 18th April 2024 at 180 Studios, 180 The Strand, London. The IPF Forum is an annual sustainability event designed to galvanise the British fashion industry to build the foundations for a circular fashion ecosystem in the UK by 2030.

Designed to be inspiring and provocative through multi-faceted conversations and activities on the sustainability agenda, this actions-oriented event will bring together voices from across the ecosystem to explore how we can create a responsible fashion industry. The day will consist of a series of visionary keynotes, practical workshops, and panel discussions with industry leaders followed by audience breakout sessions designed to bring together peers across industry to collaborate and fast-track collective positive change.

The IPF Forum 2024 will unpack why we do the work we do, with a key focus on circularity and carbon reduction through the following areas of focus:

  1. Circular Business Models
  2. Recycling for Circularity
  3. Sustainable Manufacturing

These themes directly align with the BFC’s recently announced Circular Fashion Innovation Network (CFIN), the first industry-led programme of its kind in partnership with the UK Fashion & Textile Association (UKFT), and UK Research & Innovation (UKRI). The CFIN has a two-year ambition to create an Industrial Scale Change Programme for the UK fashion and textile industry through a lens of circularity and innovation.

IPF Forum will also host The Future of Fashion Innovation Showcase which will highlight innovation and disruptors across the value chain and, The BFC Student Fabric Initiative, featuring the work of the finalists of the design student competition, which runs yearly for BFC Colleges Council member universities and is focused on the use of deadstock materials.

The official IPF Forum 2024 schedule will be available to explore online and will be updated as speakers are confirmed.

The generosity and commitment of our partners is more vital than ever.
