The British Fashion Council (BFC) is delighted to announce that Patrick McDowell is the recipient of The Queen Elizabeth II Award for British Design (QEII Award). Her Royal Highness The Princess of Wales presented the award to Founder and Creative Director, Patrick McDowell at the BFC Foundation Impact Day at the 180 Studios, London.

The QEII Award was launched in 2018 in recognition of the role the fashion industry plays in society and to spotlight talented designers who are leading the way in terms of sustainable practices and community engagement. The inaugural award was presented to Richard Quinn by Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II, when she visited London Fashion Week.
Patrick McDowell is the founder and creative director of his eponymous, London-based brand, Patrick McDowell. A graduate of Central Saint Martins, McDowell launched his label in 2018 with a mission to redefine the role of sustainability within the fashion industry. Demonstrating the brand's commitment to sustainability, Patrick McDowell is also a participant in the BFC’s Low Carbon Transition Programme (LCT). The LCT Programme is an initiative led by the BFC’s Institute of Positive Fashion (IPF), created to help educate London-based businesses on decarbonising supply chains.
