The British Fashion Council (BFC) is delighted to announce that a Special Recognition Award will be presented in celebration of the 15th anniversary of the BFC Fashion Trust at The Fashion Awards 2025 presented by Pandora (TFA). The award will be accepted by Tania Fares on Monday 1st December at the Royal Albert Hall, London. It will pay tribute to the philanthropists and cultural advocates who together have contributed to nurturing and championing emerging designers, raising significant funds totalling £6.8m for the BFC Foundation’s charitable programmes.
Founded in 2010, the BFC Fashion Trust is a grant-giving programme under the BFC Foundation, providing project-based funding and mentoring to support designers in growing and scaling their businesses. This milestone reflects the strength of the BFC Fashion Trust’s mission and the unwavering dedication of those who have championed it over the years. Tania Fares has led impactful fundraising efforts as Co-Chair of the BFC Foundation alongside Narmina Mirandi and together they have built a successful Patron Programme for the BFC Foundation. Fares’ work has been instrumental in redefining how philanthropy and fashion intersect, ensuring creativity is matched with opportunity.
Laura Weir, Chief Executive, British Fashion Council: “The work of the BFC Foundation is central to our mission of nurturing and mentoring the next generation of talent. We are deeply grateful to all the supporters who helped to establish the BFC Fashion Trust. Celebrating 15 years of its impact is a significant milestone, reflecting a remarkable legacy made possible by the generosity and commitment of our BFC Foundation Patrons.”
Tania Fares, Co-Chair of BFC Foundation Fundraising Committee: “Growing up in Paris, I was surrounded by creativity, it was part of my everyday life. Later, when I had my own brand, I experienced firsthand just how tough the industry can be. That experience stayed with me and inspired me to do everything I can to support emerging designers. I’m deeply grateful to the British Fashion Council for co-founding the BFC Fashion Trust with me. I’m truly honoured to receive this award on behalf of an incredible community of philanthropists and supporters of the BFC Foundation. Supporting talent and helping build a more inclusive, global fashion community has been one of the great privileges of my life.”
