The DHL Fashion Potential Award 2019 was awarded to the Zak Johnson from NAECO. The winner of the prestigious award for promising up-and-coming British designers was chosen at London Fashion Week.The winner was chosen by an expert jury comprising industry leaders from across the industry, incl. representatives of the BFC and DHL. The decision between the four finalists Emile Vidal Carr, NAECO, Olivia Rubin and Trakke was based on a presentation of their business plans at London Fashion Week. NAECO were born out of a passion for the ocean and sports around it. They set out to create shorts that were strong, made from ocean plastic but also looked smart so you could walk straight from the beach to a café. Their drive and passion to make a difference are at the heart of everything they do. Currently removing plastic from the ocean to make their own yarn and soft eco-friendly fabrics that are 100% recyclable.The DHL Fashion Potential Award has been presented annually by DHL in partnership with the British Fashion Council as part of London Fashion Week since 2017. It comes with a prize of £20,000 and is intended to help talented young designers expand their business globally.
