THE MANDJACOS

Suely Mario Silva is an African designer born in Guinea Bissau, Portuguese nationality. She is based in London. Finish her BA Fashion Design Degree at University of East London. Suely’s design aesthetic draws influence form questioning and explore her culture. Her attention to details and use of traditional fabrics creates a fresh approach to streetwear and casual wear designing for menswear and womenswear. Taking inspirations from art, handmade fabrics, day to day wear, her heritage, and costumes. Her collection is a combination where traditional meets modern in different ways of dressing and making use of the fabrics. Inspired by her parent’s background from one of the islands called Pecixe in Guinea Bissau, she named her collection after their tribe called mandjacos because the traditional fabrics are originally from their culture. “The Mandjacos”
