The inspiration for the Culchie collection was my grandad’s participation and arrest during the 1967 National Farming Association protest in Ireland, and culchie culture (Irish slang for people raised in rural Ireland). It called me to look at old family images displaying my heritage in farming and informed some of the garment silhouettes. Additionally, I looked at different workwear pockets to create abstract shapes and functionality in my garments.
