Susanna Pugliese is an Italian fashion design student; after spending one year at the atelier Viktor and Rolf, where she was able to learn and gain a deeper understanding of the haute couture world, she developed a strong interest in embellishment, couture, craftmanship, creative pattern cutting and tailoring. Her graduate collection is a narrative inspired by childhood memories spent in Italy as well as nature elements such as mushrooms, molds, and the seaside. To translate her creative ideas to life, Susanna employs a variety of fabric manipulation techniques, including needle felting, screen printing, beading, and hand embroidery, as well as illustration, artwork, and photography. Her graduate collection also explores the traditional construction of the crinoline underskirt, which is reinterpreted in an unconventional way; the structure does not follow the traditional rules.
