Emily Bowley is a fashion & textiles designer specialising in knitwear. She’s also an avid history lover, often looking to the past to find sources of inspiration, using it to craft new ideas that are grounded in history & aiming for them to be long lasting into the future. The inspiration for her graduate collection came from the flamboyance & excess of fashions throughout the 18th century. Pairing this with the Blitz Kids and the new romantic movement of the 1980s pushed her to explore exciting colour palettes & experiment with the scale of her knitting. She has created a collection that contrasts delicate fine gauge knits with bold oversized hand knitting, forming fun, exciting & extreme silhouettes.
