Space Face

When designing, I fabricate a narrative to draw from. I often look at idealised fantasies or glamourizing the mundane and build a detailed storyline around the idea to take inspiration from. I focus on bringing these stories to life through details in pattern cutting and embellishment, establishing the target audience and the garments’ purpose, fabrication, and silhouette. I appreciate all the aspects of the journey from idea to final garment, but particularly enjoy the pattern cutting and toiling stages. Following my internship at Harris Reed, my creative pattern cutting skills have excelled. I am very confident when approaching challenging garments as I really enjoy problem solving and developing innovative approaches to functional and wearable Avant-garde pieces. I am constantly considering how different fabrics will enhance my designs and alter the appearance of the pattern cutting.
