BFC/Vogue Designer Fashion Fund



  • Applicants should be over three years in business
  • Applicants should be based in the United Kingdom
  • The applicant's collection should consist of womenswear or accessories and not consist of menswear or bridal wear
  • Applicants should have both international and UK stockists
  • Applicants should be able to demonstrate support from both UK and international media
  • Applicants should be able to demonstrate a clear vision on how The Fund will contribute to the growth of their business
  • Applicants can apply up to five times
  • The award can only be won once

Application Process

  • Applications for 2019 are now closed.
  • The online application form includes: 
    Business and Financial Information
    Upload of End of Year Financial Accounts
    Upload of Catwalk Looks/Portfolio
    Plan for Expenditure of The Fund
  • Failure to complete the form correctly will invalidate the application
  • Applicants must ensure that they have the following information available before starting the application process:        
    Company Information
    Lookbook (JPEG or PDF)
    Financial Information (please download and complete the Excel document before completing your application)
    Most Recent End of Year Accounts (PDF)
  • Applications will be reviewed and shortlisted by a judging committee chaired by British Vogue Editor, Edward Enninful OBE, alongside industry experts and funding representatives 
  • The Shortlist will be informed via email and invited to submit a five-year business plan focusing on areas for growth and how the prize money will help develop their business into a global brand
  • The Shortlist will be interviewed by the Fund judging committee in March 2019
  • The Winner will be announced in May 2019

Terms of Entry

  • The applicant’s company should be UK-based
  • Applicants who produce fashion shows must show at London Fashion Week
  • Applicants who do not produce a fashion show should have headquarters in and sell from the UK
  • Applicants must demonstrate that they have access to quality production
  • Applicants should have an established designer business which has the potential to achieve real growth with additional resource and specialised support
  • The collection should consist of womenswear or accessories and not consist exclusively or predominantly of bridalwear or childrenswear
  • Design duos are permitted to enter
  • No samples should be submitted unless requested
  • Applicants may not apply more than five times
  • Winners of the BFC/Vogue Designer Fashion Fund are not eligible to reapply
  • The equal opportunities section must be completed, this will be kept on file for information only and will not affect the applicant’s entry
  • The interview day will be in March 2019. If selected, applicants will be required to prepare four looks from their most recent collection (models will be provided)
  • All shortlisted applicants must attend the announcement event in May 2019
