Yihui Li's collection uses pattern cutting to capture movement and tell stories, inspired by the instincts of children, the subconscious and the paintings of Henry Darger. All of the prints are specially designed according to the patterns, making a complete narrative world when the piece is finished. Her designs are based on 1940s children's wear, but the silhouette is often separate from the body heightening the sense of movement frozen in time.
