Mothic, born from my love of gothic culture and the humble moth, started initially as a textile idea. Looking at gothic fashion and music, I was particularly drawn to the place in which goth and punk intersect. Mohair striped jumpers, leather, and fringe were my main points of interest as they could replicate the textures found in the moth research images. Once I had established a group of reference garments and textures, I sought to replicate or draw inspiration to create knitting samples.
