During my research on deconstructive fashion and clothing fetishisation, I discovered that artists have explored theoretical foundations to examine perceptions of clothing and incorporated certain themes into their sculptural work. However, I struggled to find sculptors who focused on utilising the body as a theoretical element in their holistic artistic expression. It was this realisation that led to Unruly Bodies—a research project aiming to explore the perception and the emotional resonance one experiences when confronted with unfamiliarity within an object. Unruly Bodies delves into unexplored realms of research pertaining to identity and perception. Through the creation of a selection of sculptures, I embarked on a journey to visualise these theories myself, pushing the boundaries of sculptural art. I employed digital strategies such as 3D scanning and exploring the potential of sculpting as a promotional channel through the use of NFTs and blockchain platforms.
