Cold Case

My graduate collection is inspired by scientific forensic investigations into criminal cold cases, where modern advancements in technology is increasingly being utilised to solve outstanding case files. Researching medical journals and visiting our universities Forensic Science Department has deeply informed my practice, taking reference from burying natural materials to investigate natures effects on colour, texture and structures - all enhanced by print and embroidered symbols and text. DNA markers have also been used within the collection on fine silks and jerseys for contrast. Silhouettes are clinically sleek and simple, allowing the textile to take precedence.
