Abduction

My practice tries to capture the dark and unsettling experience of the unknown when faced with the power of nature. Photography was used to capture the disfiguring, decaying process when nature breaks down organic matter and vegetation and encroaches on the urban landscape. My textile collection explores the deconstruction of heavily textured materials, where they have been layered, stitched, and slashed to form sculptural organic abstract forms. My graduate menswear collection focusses on deconstructing the materiality of deadstock fabrics to create a voluminous silhouette that conveys a sense of decay and foreboding.
